My fourth great grandmother was Jemima Elvey. She was born 2 March 1791 in Great Bircham, Norfolk, England. She married John Suckling on 15 April 1812 in Great Bircham. She died on 20 April 1880 in Great Bircham.

Her parents were John Elvey and Anne Dial or Doil or Doyle. John Elvey was born around 1764 in Gressenhall, Norfolk, England. He married Anne on 21 October 1790 in Great Bircham. He died 15 September 1859 in Bircham Newton, Norfolk, England. Their other children were:

• Mary Elvey born 10 October 1793 and married John Head.
• John Elvey born 25 Jun 1795 and died Jun 1796.
• Charlotte Elvey born 26 December 1796 and married John Duffield.
• Anne Elvey born 28 July 1801 and married Robert Duffield.

John Elvey was the son of William Elvey and Elizabeth. William died in 1769 in Gressenhall. Their other children were Robert Elvey and William Elvey.

The Elvey name continued through the generations. Jemima Elvey and John Suckling named on of their children John Elvey Suckling. John Elvey Suckling's grandson was William Francis Elvey Suckling and often went by "Elvey". He was my great grandfather.
